Brick House Bakery


A stones throw away from Lordship Lane & Peckham Rye, run by husband and wife team Fergus & Sharmin Jackson, Brick House is a sourdough bakery and cafe based in East Dulwich, South East London.

Specialising in San Francisco style slow fermentation sourdough, using organic flour and other wholesome ingredients including nuts, seeds, grains and dried fruit, all handmade over two days & baked on stone. As well as their cafe and shop, they supply retailers, restaurants and other cafes with bread 6 days a week, as well as doing farmers markets at the weekends. 

Based in an old electrical warehouse with high ceilings and minimal interiors -  complete with whitewashed brick walls and concrete floor with space for 36 customers, you can choose to eat in or take out. They offer a weekly changing menu of breakfast & lunch options of simple and seasonal food as well as pastries and cakes, meaning there is always something new to try. 

The coffee, from Square Mile, an independent roaster in Hackney, is equally as high quality as the bread here. As well as serving cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy, meat from Peckham neighbours Flock & Herd and milk from Northiam Dairy. They also try to make as much in house as possible, including jams, dressings & pickles.
